Bathing Your Puppy
This page will tell you how often to bathe
your puppy and which shampoo to use.
Your puppy will need a bath about once a month, if even that often.

Over bathing will strip his coat of it's natural oils.  Please go to my
Links and Health Page and read about the dangerous chemicals that
are in ALL shampoos and that are very harmful.  You will be shocked
when you read it!

Johnson's Baby Shampoo is not a good shampoo.  It has
formaldehyde in it!  Many doctors feel formaldehyde is one of the
most harmful preservatives there is and claim it causes
many health
issues!  It gets accumulated in our organs!  Almost every shampoo if
not all, have formaldehyde in them.
Your puppy will need to be brushed once a week for a longer coat and alot less
for a "puppy" cut.  Dogs tend to get matted under their ears and chin.  Also
under their arm pits.  Is that what their called?  Our favorite brush is the
double sided brush which we sell.

We are selling Doggie Cologne/Perfume now too!  It's great for between baths
and for cleaning dirty little paws!  It has such a nice light scent!

The whitening/brightening shampoos are very harsh and full of
chemicals.  Many breeders use these to make the coats of their
puppies look whiter and/or brighter.   I am guilty, I have a bottle
sitting around here somewhere, although it has been many years
since I last used it.  It strips puppies coats and if used too much,
will leave their coats on the coarse side. This is from the
chemicals in it. The label on the bottle even says not to use it on
puppies, but most breeders do so anyhow.

Your skin, (your puppies skin) is the largest organ you have.  The
chemicals in the whitening shampoo go right through into your
puppies blood stream!  It is very toxic and very bad for a puppy.
It can also weaken a puppies immune system.

We use a non toxic shampoo and conditioner on our puppies, our
adults and us.

You can purchase this is my home or order it on my
Products Page.
Some puppies LOVE baths and some, not
so much!  Bichons usually love the water!
